From the Ashes — Player Wiki

A player’s guide to the custom systems, progression, and quality-of-life features of From the Ashes, a Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a realm.

Status: LIVE — the systems marked Live below are available in normal play. Limited, Disabled, and Staff-only content is labeled wherever it appears.

At a glance

  • Level cap: 80.
  • Start: level 1, 100 copper, standard class gear, class food and water, and 50 Beginner’s Gliders.
  • Rates: base experience is 1x; reputation is 2x. Individual XP can be raised to 5x with .xp.
  • Progression: 18 usable stages from Classic through Outland and Northrend, numbered 0–18; stage 11 is retired. Advancement is per character, and .ipstage can switch among already-earned stages.

  • Convenience: an account-wide reagent bank, free transmog, reforging, NPCBots, Pocket Pals, Timewalking, custom loot, and a stocked Auction House.
  • Grouping: manual groups and NPCBots fill the gaps; the Random Dungeon Finder is limited to Classic and The Burning Crusade.
  • Travel: the Emerald Dreamway is usable from level 1; gliders are available from the start; mounts unlock at 30.

How to use this guide

  1. Read Getting started and Starting experience first.
  2. Use this page as the index. Every subsystem has one document and one status badge.
  3. Treat Live as available, Limited as partially available or arranged by staff, Disabled as present but switched off, and Staff-only as content you should not expect to use in normal play.
  4. Commands written with a slash, such as /rbank, are typed in the in-game chat box. Commands written with a dot, such as .xp view, are also typed in chat, but only the ones shown in player documents are intended for players.
  5. Read the Limits and configuration section before planning around a system. Several features are deliberately capped or switched off.

Commands & UI

Player commands are typed in chat. Dot commands are server commands; slash commands usually open a custom window.

Status legend

BadgeMeaning for players
LiveAvailable to all players in normal play. Some parts may still have level or progression requirements.
LimitedImplemented, but access, completion, or rewards are restricted. This can mean staff arrangement, an incomplete encounter, or a narrow level bracket.
DisabledPresent in the build, but switched off on the live realm. Do not plan around it.
Staff-onlyIntended for staff, events, or administration. Normal players should not expect access.

The shape of the realm

From the Ashes keeps the Wrath client and its world, but changes the journey around it:

  • You begin at level 1, not 55 or 70. The first 60 levels are Classic content; Outland and Northrend follow as you advance, and progression stages keep later content closed until you earn it.
  • Old content stays relevant. Individual progression, Timewalking, custom loot, and level-scaling rewards give max-level characters reasons to return to Classic and Outland dungeons and raids.
  • The convenience layer is account-friendly. The reagent bank and shared professions are account-wide. Transmog is free. The Auction House is stocked. NPCBots can join a group.
  • Challenge is opt-in. Oaths make the game harder in specific ways and pay permanent combat bonuses. You can ignore them entirely.
  • Not every installed system is live. The Quartermaster Ledger is disabled. Several convenience commands are disabled. Staff-only test content is not part of the normal progression.

Global rules worth knowing

  • Progression is per character. Stage scrolls are account-bound, but advancing one character does not advance another.
  • Account-wide systems: the reagent bank, shared profession progress, and most addon settings. Character-only systems: level, progression stage, Oaths, Pocket Pals collection, and NPCBot altbots.
  • Reputation is 2x. Experience is 1x unless you change it with .xp.
  • Boosting is limited. A level-60 boost is available once per character and is blocked while an Oath is active.
  • The Random Dungeon Finder is not a full Wrath finder. It covers Classic and The Burning Crusade only.
  • The Auction House is stocked by server sellers. It is not a pure player economy.
  • No system requires a cash shop. Staff-only items are not part of the normal acquisition loop.

Known gaps and honest labels

These are intentionally called out rather than hidden:

  • Quartermaster Ledger is fully coded but disabled. Use a normal quartermaster NPC.
  • Portable transmog is not available. Use the Transmogrification UI and a transmogrifier.
  • Hall of Thanes has an entrance and map but no finished encounter or completion state. It is a Limited exploration space.
  • Well of Eternity requires progression stage 10 and has no confirmed public entrance; staff must arrange access.
  • Artifacts and the Lightforged Warframe are event or staff grants, not quest rewards.
  • MultiVendor is a staff island vendor. It is not a player economy feature.
  • There is no remote Auction House. .ah is disabled and PaperDollAH hides itself. Use an Auction House NPC.
  • .repair is disabled. Use a repair vendor or repair mount.
  • Arena Commendation 844115 has no vendor or scripted sink. It is a rated-arena record item, not spendable currency.
  • Wintergrasp quartermasters have no confirmed spawn. The battle works, but do not plan a WG vendor loop.
  • Battleground bonus rewards, BG marks/tokens, the Ring of Valor, and SoloLFG are off. Random battlegrounds and arenas still run.

Admin note

This catalog was written against the live runtime configuration under Server/runtime/configs/ and the installed source and data. The global switches referenced here are documented in 26 — Admin and config appendix. Do not edit source, client, or database files to “fix” a player-facing limitation; change the live module config, restart or reload as appropriate, and update the affected document if a status changes.
