Loot and Rewards
Level normally, collect every quest choice, and spend Lucky Coins on extra boss rolls without losing track of what the server actually changes.
Status: LIVE — quest loot sharing, all-choice quest rewards, bonus item quantities, area looting, loot beams, the dynamic loot browser, and Lucky Coin boss rolls are active. Limited: loot beams require the WarcraftXL client for visible rendering. Staff-only: the
/dloot addand/dloot gmaddpaths. Disabled: bonus rolls in battlegrounds.
At a glance
| System | Status | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Quest Loot Party | Live | Each eligible group member gets their own copy of common-quality quest drops. |
| Reward All Quest Choices | Live | A quest with multiple choice rewards gives you every choice, not just the selected one. |
| Item Drop Multiplier | Live | Apexis Shards, Badges of Justice, and Cobra Scales drop in extra quantities. |
| AoE Loot | Live | .aoeloot on/off collects nearby corpse loot into one window for the login session. |
| Loot Beam | Live | Creature corpses show a quality-colored beam; visible rendering requires WarcraftXL. |
| Dynamic Loot Browser | Live | /dloot opens an AtlasLoot-backed creature and item loot browser. |
| Lucky Coin bonus rolls | Live | Spend a Lucky Coin after a raid or world boss for a chance at an epic-or-better item. |
- No loot command grants items. There is no player command to add loot, force a boss drop, or change drop rates.
- No personal loot system. Group loot, need/greed, free-for-all, and master loot still follow the normal Wrath rules.
- No bonus roll in PvP. Battlegrounds block the Lucky Coin roll and do not consume the coin.
- No remote loot collection. Overflow items are handled by the Postmaster only where the system explicitly supports mail.
How to use the loot systems
- Loot normally. Kill creatures, open containers, and complete quests as usual. Group rolls and ownership rules are unchanged.
- Loot quest drops with your group. Common-quality quest items can now be collected by every eligible group member. You do not need to trade a white quest drop around.
- Turn in choice quests with bag space. The server grants the selected reward and every other choice reward. With the current safety setting, turn-in waits until your bags can hold the full set.
- Use area looting when farming. Type
.aoeloot onor.aoeloot off. The setting lasts for your current login session and starts enabled on each login. - Open the loot browser when you want to check a drop table. Use
/dloot, orCtrl-left-clicka creature. This is a reference tool, not a loot filter. - Watch for a bonus-roll prompt after a raid boss. If you carry a Lucky Coin, use it within 60 seconds. The charm is spent on the attempt even if the roll fails.
- Read the loot beam. The beam colour reflects the best remaining loot quality on a creature corpse. It does not change what dropped.
Quest Loot Party
Every eligible player in the group can loot their own copy of common-quality quest drops.
- What qualifies: common-quality quest loot only. These are usually the white items that drop for a quest objective.
- What does not qualify: equipment, uncommon or rare quest drops, gold, and ordinary non-quest loot.
- Drop chances: unchanged. The module does not increase how often an item drops.
- Group size: every eligible member can get a copy, so nobody has to wait for a shared white quest drop.
- Native rules still apply: the item must be lootable by that player, and normal quest eligibility is checked.
- No extra copies for non-quest items. Gear still follows need/greed, free-for-all, or master loot.
This is the reason a group can finish “collect 10 drops” quests without passing one white item around. It does not turn every drop into personal loot.
Reward All Quest Choices
When a quest offers several reward choices, you receive the selected reward and the other choice rewards.
- Selected choice: still granted normally by the client and core.
- Extra choices: granted by the module as additional items.
- Unique rewards: an extra that you already own is skipped, including copies in your bank or mailbox.
- Bag space:
DenyIfFullis on. You can finish the objectives with full bags, but turn-in waits until there is room for the full reward set. - Overflow: if an extra still cannot be stored after turn-in, the Postmaster mails it in the same quest-completion transaction.
- Excluded quests: none currently. Every multi-choice quest uses the all-choice rule.
- No duplicate selected item: the module adds the other choices; it does not give you two copies of the one you clicked.
Practical effect: a quest that offers a weapon, a ring, and a cloak gives you all three. Check your bags before turning in a large quest chain, because the full set can take several slots.
Item Drop Multiplier
Three specific items drop in larger quantities when they are looted:
| Item | Item ID | Multiplier | Practical result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apexis Shard | 32569 | 2× | One extra shard per shard looted. |
| Badge of Justice | 29434 | 1.5× | A single badge has a 50% chance at one extra; a stack of two gives one extra guaranteed. |
| Cobra Scales | 29539 | 2× | One extra scale per scale looted. |
- When it applies: direct corpse, object, and container loot, plus group-roll rewards.
- How it works: the original item is granted normally; the module adds the bonus quantity afterward. It does not rewrite the creature loot table.
- Fractional bonuses: probabilistic. A 1.5× multiplier on a single item is a 50% chance at +1, not a guaranteed 1.5 items.
- Announcements: the player receives a message when a bonus quantity is actually awarded.
- Base drop rates: poor-quality drops are at 0.75×, normal-quality drops at 1.5×, and uncommon through artifact drops at 1×. Money is 1×.
- No custom-item multiplier: only the three configured items are affected.
This is bonus quantity, not a blanket drop-rate increase. A Badge of Justice still has to drop before the extra badge can be awarded.
AoE Loot
.aoeloot on and .aoeloot off toggle area looting for the current login session.
- Range: 55 yards around you.
- Capacity: the corpse you opened plus up to 10 additional corpses.
- What it collects: eligible corpse loot. It does not harvest mining nodes, open chests, or loot game objects.
- Groups: group members and NPCBots are included where the native ownership rules allow.
- Rolls: native need/greed, free-for-all, round-robin, and master-loot rules still apply. The module does not override another player’s reserved item or an active roll.
- Quest items: your own eligible quest items are handled by the normal quest-loot rules.
- Full bags: items stay on the source corpse. There is no overflow mail for AoE loot.
- Session only: the setting resets on your next login and starts enabled again.
- Trigger: you must open a valid corpse first. It is not automatic looting while running past bodies.
Use it for dense farming areas, not for a boss corpse where the group is still rolling. If your bags fill, turn it off, clear space, and loot the remaining corpses normally.
Loot Beam
Creature corpses can show a coloured beam for the best quality still available on that corpse.
- Creature corpses only. Chests, nodes, and other objects do not use the corpse beam.
- Quality colour: the beam reflects the best remaining loot quality, not a specific item.
- No loot change: the beam is a visual hint. It does not add, filter, or improve drops.
- Client requirement: the server-side hint is active for everyone, but the visible beam is rendered by WarcraftXL. Without that client runtime you may not see the beam.
- No interaction: you still open the corpse and loot normally.
The beam is useful for spotting a corpse with something left on it. It is not a guarantee that the item is an upgrade.
Dynamic Loot Browser
/dloot opens the AtlasLoot dynamic mob-loot browser. You can also Ctrl-left-click a creature to open its loot table.
- Player access: open. The browser bridge does not require GM mode.
- Search results: up to 100 rows per request.
- Creature detail: up to 200 item rows for one creature.
- References: nested reference loot is resolved up to 10 levels deep.
- Reverse search: enabled. You can look up which creatures can drop an item.
- Throttle: one request per player per 500 ms.
- Hidden entries: creature entries and ranges in
70001–73586are excluded from search and lookup. - Default filters: poor-quality rows are hidden by default; quest-required rows are shown by default. You can change the view in the addon.
- Zero-chance rows: hidden at the server layer.
- This is a browser, not a filter. It does not change what drops, what you can loot, or your loot settings.
/dloot commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/dloot | Open or close the browser. |
/dloot mob <entry|name> | Look up a creature by entry or name. |
/dloot mobname <name> | Look up a creature by name. |

/dloot gmadd on|off | Staff-only. Toggles the GM add path. |
/dloot add and /dloot gmadd are not a way to give yourself loot. They rely on GM item-add commands and are documented here only so players do not mistake them for normal browser features.
Lucky Coin bonus rolls
Lucky Coin is item 643641. The bonus-roll prompt calls it an Elder Charm of Good Fortune, but the item in your bags is named Lucky Coin.
How to earn a roll
- Kill an eligible raid boss or world boss.
- Be eligible for that boss’s loot and, for a normal boss, be within loot distance when it dies. A few scripted raid encounters can register group members elsewhere in the same instance.
- Have a Lucky Coin in your bags.
- Use the coin within 60 seconds of the kill.
What happens
- Prompt: if you have a coin, the server tells you a bonus roll is available for that boss.
- Use the coin: use Lucky Coin directly from your bags, or use the
/bonuslootprompt. - Consume: one coin is spent on every valid attempt, even if the roll fails.
- Roll: 33.33% chance at an item.
- Item: epic quality or better. The server samples up to 24 eligible entries from that boss and grants one usable reward.
- Failure: consolation gold of 25–45g.
- Overflow: if the item cannot fit in your bags, the Postmaster mails it.
Eligibility rules
- Raid bosses: yes, in raid maps.
- World bosses: yes.
- Regular dungeon bosses: no. Five-player dungeon bosses are not eligible under the current
RaidBossOnlysetting. - Party or raid: solo, party, and raid players can receive an opportunity if they meet the kill and loot conditions.
- One active opportunity: the server tracks one pending bonus-roll opportunity per player. Use it before the next eligible boss, because a newer opportunity replaces an older unused one.
- One attempt per boss: you cannot roll twice on the same boss kill.
- Battlegrounds: blocked. The coin is not consumed there.
- No active boss opportunity: the coin is not consumed.
Lucky Coin sources
Lucky Coins come from several sources, including:
- Stock daily random and heroic dungeon quests.
- The Outland heroic “Wanted:” quests from Wind Trader Zhareem.
- Shattered Sun Supplies caches from the Isle of Quel’Danas quests.
- Timewalking bosses. The separate Timewalking reward table grants one Lucky Coin at 15% per eligible level-70 or level-80 boss kill. This is independent of the BonusLoot roll; see 20 — Custom raids and endgame.
The coin stacks to 20. Do not vendor it by mistake; it has no vendor value as a bonus-roll currency.
BonusLoot client commands
These are client-side addon commands for the prompt and its display. They do not create loot or grant coins.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/bonusloot | Toggle the active prompt. |
/blroll | Alias for /bonusloot. |
/bonusloot test [boss] | Preview the prompt locally. Does not perform a real roll or grant loot. |
/bonusloot charm <itemId> | Change which item ID the addon watches for. It does not grant that item. |
/bonusloot lock | Lock or unlock the prompt frame. |
/bonusloot scale <0.6-1.6> | Resize the prompt. |
/bonusloot reset | Reset the prompt position and scale. |
/bonusloot status | Show the current prompt state and remaining time. |
Commands & UI
| Action | How to do it |
|---|---|
| Open the loot browser | /dloot, or Ctrl-left-click a creature |
| Look up a creature | /dloot mob <entry|name> |
| Look up an item | /dloot item <itemId> |
| Reverse item search | /dloot search <name> |
| Browse maps | /dloot maps |
| Toggle area loot | .aoeloot on / .aoeloot off |
| Use a Lucky Coin | Use the item from your bags, or click the bonus-roll prompt |
| Toggle the bonus-roll prompt | /bonusloot |
| Check bonus-roll prompt state | /bonusloot status |
| Change the browser skin | /dloot skin <name> or /dloot skin next |
| Toggle the browser minimap button | /dloot minimap |
- No cheat commands. There is no player command to spawn loot, force a bonus roll, or add items.
- No loot-filter command.
/dlootis a database browser, not a master-loot or auto-loot toggle. - No cross-character mailing. Use the Postmaster only for the specific overflow cases described above.
Tips
- Keep a few bag slots free before quest turn-ins. All-choice rewards can fill a bag quickly.
- Do not vendor Lucky Coins. They are the entry cost for bonus rolls.
- Use the coin before the next boss. An unused opportunity can be replaced by a newer one.
- Roll on bosses you actually need. A failed roll still spends the coin and pays only consolation gold.
- Check the loot browser before farming.
/dloot item <itemId>shows whether the item is in the live database and which creatures reference it. - Remember the browser exclusions. Creature entries in
70001–73586are hidden, so some custom content will not appear. - Turn AoE loot off for boss kills. Let the group finish rolls before sweeping nearby corpses.
- Watch your bags when AoE looting. Full bags leave loot behind and there is no overflow mail for that system.
- Use the loot beam as a hint, not a guarantee. It shows quality, not whether the item is an upgrade.
- Do not expect gear from the item multiplier. Only Apexis Shards, Badges of Justice, and Cobra Scales are affected.
- Common quest drops are shared, not duplicated. Only white quest loot gets the personal-copy treatment.

Admin note
Core loot rates. Rate.Drop.Item.Poor=0.75, Rate.Drop.Item.Normal=1.5, Rate.Drop.Item.Uncommon through Rate.Drop.Item.Artifact=1, Rate.Drop.Item.Referenced=1, Rate.Drop.Item.ReferencedAmount=1, Rate.Drop.Item.GroupAmount=1, and Rate.Drop.Money=1. These are the baseline rates; the item-specific module is separate.
Quest Loot Party. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/mod-quest-loot-party.conf; live values QuestParty.Enable=true, QuestParty.Message=true. The module sets freeforall only for common-quality quest loot. Existing generated loot keeps its sharing state across a config reload. The login announcement requires the supplied module_string row; if that row is absent, login continues silently. No command toggles it per player.
Reward All Quest Choices. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/mod_reward_all_quest_choices.conf; live values Quests.RewardAllChoiceItems.Enable=1, ExcludedQuestIds="", DenyIfFull=1, Announce=1, LogGranted=0. The selected choice is granted by the core; the module grants the remaining choices. Already-owned unique extras are counted across bags, bank, and mail. DenyIfFull=1 blocks the actual turn-in until all choice and mandatory rewards fit; extras that still cannot be stored are mailed by the Postmaster in the same database transaction. Legacy RecoverOnLogin and BackfillCompletedOnLogin settings are no longer used.
Item Drop Multiplier. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/item_drop_multiplier.conf; live values ItemDropMultiplier.Enabled=1, Rules="32569:2; 29434:1.5; 29539:2", ApplyToNormalLoot=1, ApplyToGroupRollLoot=1, AnnounceOnLogin=1. The module grants the bonus quantity after loot is awarded and does not rewrite creature_loot_template chance rows. Fractional bonuses use a probabilistic extra item. Do not add custom-item rules without checking quest and currency handling.
AoE Loot. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/mod_aoe_loot.conf; live values AOELoot.Enable=1, Message=1, Range=55.0, MaxCorpses=10, Group=1. It handles creature/vehicle corpse loot only, starts enabled per login, and stores the player preference in session custom data. Full bags intentionally leave items on the source corpse; overflow mail is deliberately not used. Quest-sensitive, roll-reserved, free-for-all, blocked, and condition-bearing items are not moved.
Loot Beam. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/mod_loot_beam.conf; live value LootBeam.Enable=1. Server-side quality hints do not change loot. Visible beam rendering is a WarcraftXL client feature and is independently optional.
Dynamic Loot Browser. Config: Server/runtime/configs/modules/dynamic_loot_browser.conf; live values DynamicLoot.Enable=1, RequireGM=0, MaxResults=100, MaxItemsPerCreature=200, IncludeReferenceLoot=1, ResolveReferenceLootRecursive=1, MaxReferenceDepth=10, HideZeroChance=1, HideQuestRequiredByDefault=0, HidePoorQualityByDefault=1, EnableReverseItemSearch=1, ThrottleMs=500, Debug=0, ExcludedCreatureEntryRanges=70001-73586. Keep RequireGM=0 for player access. add and gmadd still depend on GM item commands and remain staff-only. RequireGM=1 would hide the browser from players.
BonusLoot. Config lives in Server/runtime/configs/worldserver.conf. Live values: BonusLoot.Enable=1, PromptOnKill=1, RaidBossOnly=1, RequireRaidGroup=0, Debug=1 (diagnostic; set to 0 for normal operation), ElderCharmItemId=643641, SuccessChancePct=33.33, EligibilitySeconds=60, MaxLootAttempts=24, FallbackGoldMinCopper=250000, FallbackGoldMaxCopper=450000, MinItemQuality=4, MoltenCoreLegendaryBonusItems=1, LegendaryCandidateWeight=0.05, MailSenderEntry=34337. The roll is blocked in battlegrounds. A valid attempt consumes the coin before the success check, so failure still spends it. One pending opportunity is tracked per player; logout clears it. RaidBossOnly=1 excludes ordinary five-player dungeon bosses, and RequireRaidGroup=0 allows solo and party opportunities. The separate mod_timewalking_boss_reward table grants Lucky Coins at 15% on Timewalking boss kills; it is not part of BonusLoot.
Reload and diagnostics. After editing module configs, use .reload config or restart; module-specific reload behavior varies, so verify in game. BonusLoot.Debug=1 and DynamicLoot.Debug=1 are diagnostic modes and should not be left on. /dloot clearcache clears the browser cache; it does not reload server config. Changes to drop rules should be tested with a disposable character and a known creature, never on a live raid pull.
If any of these values change, update this document and Overview.
